The Best Green Screen Editing Software

There are many different software programs available to apply green screen effects to photos and videos. However, the best software is that which is easy to use and capable to produce truly amazing shots. There are two different types of software programs available – one is photo editing software which includes green screen effect as a part in it; one is separate green screen editing software. Separate green screen software is good if you want to just give green screen effect and do nothing else.

How to choose the best green screen software for your use?
  1. Determine needs – First of all, check what you have to do with the software, whether you have to do a background merge or the objects need to interact with each other.
  2. Cost – Set a price which you want to spend on the software. Do not go for cheap software. Buy only quality software such as 123 Image Magic and 123 Video Magic. The software available for free are completely useless, since they do not have full features as in commercial software.
  3. Free trial – Go for the free trial of the software first. This will help you to remove your confusion, if you have confusion between 2 chroma key software programs.
  4. Easy interface – It is important to check the interface of the software. There should be tutorials available for the software. Otherwise it would be difficult for you to operate the software.
  5. Library of images – The software is a plus if it comes with graphics library containing images to be used as green backgrounds.
  6. Features – Also check in the software different effects and transitions which could be applied to green screen photos and videos.

If all the above features are present in the software, you can consider purchasing that. The more the features present in the software, the more the quality of that software.

Paint.net is (at least in our opinion) the simplest option on the list. It still comes with a ton of powerful features like layers, adjustments, and user-created plugins, but is simple enough that complete newcomers can grasp it immediately. The features are across the top, and filters are accessible from a drop-down menu.
Some of the special effects are pretty cool: sharpen, blur, distort, emboss, etc. You can even get some Instagram-esque vintage effects in there for good measure. We don’t want to waste too much time on this one. It’s got a lot of features, an easy interface, and a simple layout. If you’re struggling with others on this list, then stick with the easiest option.
